Kolašin is Montenegro's premier mountain resort — a ski town at 960 metres in the Bjelasica range, with the Kolašin 1450 ski complex and the more challenging Kolašin 1600 slopes serving both beginners and advanced skiers. Biogradska Gora National Park, adjacent to the resort, contains one of only three remaining primeval forests in Europe: a virgin forest of centuries-old beech and fir where the biodiversity records are among the highest in the continent. The Tara River runs through the valley below; Biogradsko Lake reflects the forest in absolute silence.
