Mount Lovćen & Njeguš — Private Chauffeur Tour — FFGR 黑山 黑山
Ascend Montenegro's sacred mountain by private chauffeur. FFGR Montenegro tours Mount Lovćen, the Njeguš village, and the Njegoš Mausoleum.
Mount Lovćen stands at 1,749 metres above Kotor Bay, its summit crowned with the mausoleum of Petar II Petrović-Njegoš — the nineteenth-century prince-bishop, poet, and philosopher who remains Montenegro's defining cultural figure. The ascent from Kotor via the Kotor-Lovćen road — a series of twenty-five serpentine bends cut directly into the limestone face — is, at close range, one of the more vertiginous driving experiences in Europe.
FFGR Montenegro's Lovćen excursion is conducted exclusively in vehicles with advanced traction control and mountain road capability: the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Range Rover SV are the standard choices. The ascent takes approximately forty-five minutes from Kotor; the views across Boka Bay are unrestricted and extraordinary.
The village of Njeguš, birthplace of the Petrović-Njegoš dynasty, sits on a high plateau between the coast and the mountain interior. It is known throughout Montenegro for its smoked ham — Njeguška pršuta — and its sheep's cheese, both of which are produced by village families using methods unchanged for centuries. A stop at one of the family smokeries constitutes a culinary experience unavailable in any restaurant.
The Njegoš Mausoleum, reached via 461 steps from the car park, contains a monumental gilded statue of the prince-bishop and offers panoramic views extending in clear weather to Italy across the Adriatic. The interior stonework — black granite and Carrara marble — was designed by Ivan Meštrović.
FFGR Montenegro conducts the Lovćen tour as a half-day excursion (from €320, Mercedes S-Class) or as part of a full-day itinerary combining the mountain with Cetinje, the former royal capital. Contact us via WhatsApp +33 7 43 46 14 91 to arrange.
