Lake Ohrid, shared with Albania, is one of Europe's oldest lakes, over 3 million years old, and its water is so clear that you can see the bottom at 22 metres depth. The Church of Saints Clement and Panteleimon, the Plaosnik monastery complex, and the Fortress of Tsar Samuel sit on the hill above the old town.
